Four guys, eight rivers, four days – part II

Third day in the morning we split up. One car was going south and the other one north. I was in the north one. A small part of my luggage…

The day was cloudy and the temperature was low, excellent weather for steelhead fishing. This time we were fishing a bigger river and we needed to use spey rods or switch. My setup for that day…

Fourth day. Rivers from the south area. Walking through the forest…

First fish of the day…landed on a sandy beach…

The second good fish … a brown trout…

And in every good hole or run I got two or three of these three years old steellie.

You can see they lived in the lake from the silver/black coloration…

In the afternoon I changed the river. This time I was alone, my friends were trying to catch a plane in Detroit, so I was fishing for them 🙂 … The day before the river was too high, but that day the level dropped and the color was gin clear.

And then in the perfect run I found the perfect fish…the biggest brown I ever landed on that Creek… Long body…

…beautiful colors…

…going back to the deeps

This spring I started to use a different tactic. I am going up nymphing and I am coming down swinging. Going down…and that tree over the water was telling me that somebody is hiding there…

..and I was right…

…my first brown caught on a Hoh-Bo fly

And this was the end of a four days/eight rivers trip… great time spent with my friends.
